Katrina Whitehead, Course Leader, Photography and organiser of the trip said that highlights of the visit included seeing the red carpet in Hollywood due to the film premier by Kevin Costner who briefly appeared for an interview and also the film studio tours which incorporated behind the scenes visits to famous television shows such as Friends, Desperate Housewives, Back to the Future and Normal Bates’ Motel from Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. Filming is taking place everywhere you go and we even bumped into actors from the Big Bang Theory and The Interview. The art gallery exhibitions were plentiful and the Costume Gallery was exceptionally well curated with interviews and outfits from classic films such as The Matrix and The Wizard of Oz.

Students from the degree programmes said that they thought the visit was the opportunity of a lifetime and they especially enjoyed the warm weather, cheap public transport, meeting interesting people and the fact there was so much to see and do. Overall they found it very educational and have been inspired to return one day.
