Entry requirements:

A minimum of four GCSEs grade D or above, including English Language, or a level 1 art and design qualification at pass or merit grade, including English and Maths at level 1.

You will also need a portfolio of art and design work that shows your enthusiasm for the subject.

Course description:

This course is offered at our Wheelwright and Huddersfield Centres. On this course you will develop your skills and creative ideas in a range of materials, techniques and processes working in two and three dimensions. You will work towards the level 2 visual arts or graphics award and develop your skills in English and Maths.

On the course you will:
• create a portfolio of practical work
• visit galleries, museums and places of interest
• exhibit work in public exhibitions
• be involved in competitions and live projects
• be involved in enterprise activities

Continuous assessment of coursework.

Progression:

You could progress onto a level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma.
